(Wellesley, MA) According to Boston Magazine's 2001 Best of
Boston survey, it's "a style that's at once soothing and energizing"
that captured the annual award for Jennifer Harvey as Boston's Best
Exercise Instructor (West). Now Ms. Harvey, along with a group of very
talented teachers, is bringing the best to her new Laughing Dog Yoga
Studio opening this month in Wellesley.
The new studio will offer a convenient daily
schedule of yoga for all levels including
beginning and continuing students whether
they seek gentle, flowing or power yoga
classes. In addition, both private and
semi-private instruction is available in yoga
and Pilates as is Yoga Therapy for those who
have either an injury or specific concerns.
A double-decade veteran of the American
fitness scene, Ms. Harvey has been on the
cutting edge of mind/body exercise and is an
accomplished teacher of yoga, Pilates and
NIA (Neuromuscular Integrative Action) as
well as a Licensed Psychotherapist having
been in practice for the past seventeen years.
Certified in both the Kripalu and Svaroopa
yoga traditions, she holds a Blue Belt in NIA
and has completed extensive training in Pilates
with the Physical/Mind Institute.
In addition to her teaching, she has integrated
an extensive study of human anatomy and the
body's energy systems with her training in
fitness, psychology and meditation into a
highly-refined Yoga Therapy practice
addressing physical injuries, postural
misalignments, trauma and stress.
For several weeks each of the past five years,
Ms. Harvey has co-led Washington, DC based
INWARD BOUND travel adventures in yoga
and mind/body fitness to exotic locations
around the globe including Osa Peninsula,
Costa Rica; Isla De la Mujeres, Mexico;
Montego Bay, Jamaica; Umbria, Italy;
Tourettes sur Loop, France . INWARD
BOUND has been featured in national
media including The New York Times,
Los Angeles Times, Washington Post,
Mademoiselle, Self and Yoga Journal.
